Retail Manager

Key Responsibilities

As the Retail Manager, you will be responsible for generating sales and profitability for the respective department. This is a store management role, for which you will provide direction and leadership to a group of team members and be responsible for driving sales, achieving business effectiveness in store operations and in store merchandising, team management, inventory control, sales promotions and delivering quality customer service.

  • Manning the daily store operations
  • Managing of store’s duty roster to ensure sufficient staffing during store’s operating hours
  • Managing of promoters to ensure adherence of our company’s policies and procedures, monitor and push promoter to meet weekly/monthly targets and take corrective action if target are not met
  • Plan and drive towards achieving weekly/monthly store’s sales target and gross profit
  • To breakdown sales and gross profit budgets by individual sales person and monitor sales and gross profit achievement by individual sales staff/Promoters on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Appraise top performers and coach poor performers
  • Conduct short effective meeting before the start / closing of store’s operation
  • Monitor sales staff on the sales floor (especially during peak hours and weekends)
  • Monitor inventory level and keep sufficient stocking for fast moving stocks and promotional items to avoid sales loss due to stock out situation
  • Service items need to be put up for return to vendor promptly and follow up closely till collection are being carried out by vendor
  • Escalate critical customer’s issues to higher management when required
  • Follow up closely on any AR issues and ensure payment are collected promptly before delivery
  • Follow up on inventory discrepancy and carry out investigation to resolve the variance
  • Submit required paper works (e.g OT, commission, etc) in a timely manner
  • Participate, prepare and carry out stock take in according to company’s procedures
  • Any other ad hoc duties assigned from time to time

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Retail Management or Higher in related field
  • Proven track record as a successful retail Store Manager, with min 5 years experience in retail and people management, preferably in Computers, Communication or Consumer electronics segment
  • Powerful leadership skills, business and result orientation
  • Good Customer management skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willing to work retail hours, including weekend and public holiday
  • Passionate and self-motivated
