Cute toy...
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently bought this for my 7 month old grandson. I love the watermelon idea with the seeds inside. Reviews were mixed but I still gave it a try. It doesn't really grab his attention and the middle piece that connects the two melon halves together is very difficult to get to stay connected as I read in previous reviews. I can also see where the gap between the two pieces would be a great trap for little fingers. When he is playing with this, I make sure to pay close attention to avoid any accidents. I probably would not purchase this item again.

Pinch Point on hinge between 2 halfs
There is a pinch point on the hinge side of the melon halves. My little one was playing and her finger got caught I added a photo of location for awareness.

Great toy! Middle clasp needs improvement
My baby absolutely loves this toy! We have fun rolling it back and forth when it’s clasped together or playing bongo drums when it’s open. The only reason why I’m giving it 4 starts is because the middle clasp that holds it together needs to be improved due to safety reasons. We were playing bongo drums today and she got a bit overexcited and slammed her hand in the middle. The poor thing pinched her finger and is a bit hesitant about the toy. I’ll try to have her give it another go, once the swelling goes down, but highly recommend skip hop create a way for parents to be able to lock the toy in place when their children want to play drums on it. Other than this one flaw it’s a wonderful toy and a lot of fun.

A great two in one type of toy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Since we got the toy, my child loves to bang the drum with his hands and army crawl while it is in ball form. However, the strap that keeps it in ball form is not finger friendly. It is difficult to close but I wonder if it is so the child does not get their fingers stuck.

8 month old loves, but…
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fun for babies/infants/tots that love banging on everything, but not so finger friendly. I wish the outer trimming was a gel or silicone or had a “anti-slamming” mechanism just for the sake of little fingers.

SKIP
Safety hazard! My little one pinched her finger really badly in between. I had to help her remove her finger. I feel so terrible for letting her play with this. Skip this toy and buy something safe for your LO
